October 23rd, 2009, 2:50 pm · Post a Comment · posted by Mathew Padilla

First Dupage Bank of Westmont, Illinois, was closed today, becoming the 106th failure of an FDIC-insured lender this year. Read more HERE.

Other banks that failed today are:

  • Riverview Community Bank of Otsego, Minnesota. Read more HERE.
  • American United Bank of Lawrenceville, Georgia. Read more HERE.
  • Partners Bank of Naples, Florida. Read more HERE.
  • Hillcrest Bank Florida in Naples, Florida. Read more HERE.
  • Flagship National Bank in Bradenton, Florida. Read more HERE.
  • Bank of Elmwood, Racine, Wisconsin. Read more HERE.

So three Florida banks are gone. Florida had a property boom to rival ours.

And some market watchers fear that as commercial real estate continues to suffer many small banks will fail across the country in the months ahead.
