A special report by MDA DataQuick shows banks had 3,338 unsold foreclosures in Orange County on their books as of early last month.
I requested DataQuick look at all foreclosures for the year ended in June and see how many had resold by Sept. 12 — that was the earliest date they could run the numbers for me at the time I requested the information.
I did a story on it HERE.
And you can look up foreclosure inventory for any ZIP in O.C. in a sortable chart HERE. If you click on that link, you can sort the data by clicking on any of the column headers.
And click on the map to be taken to a larger map with a look at how long it would take to sell all the foreclosures in each ZIP.

Cue Steve Thomas, “Pent Up Demand”, and some other nonesense.
See the ‘bad’ zip code in Irvine? That’s Villages of Columbus. LAWL.
It looks to me as Barney Frank did a disservice to the people he was trying to help. For those who lost their homes, I am sorry. Next time around, remember that rules were meant to protect you from greedy folks. Please learn and follow the rules of real estate.
Only 73 unsold in Irvine. That’s less than a 1 month supply.
This shows that foreclosures are not a county wide problem. Clearly the lower end has the most significant volume.
Lower end’s probably getting the lions share of sales as well.
Keep watching that down arrow.
